What Is Vehicle Leasing?
Leasing, or contract hire, lets you use a brand-new vehicle for an agreed period and annual mileage in return for an initial rental and fixed monthly rentals. At the end of the agreement, you hand the vehicle back.
What Is the Difference Between Personal and Business Leasing?
Personal Contract Hire is for private use, and amounts include VAT. Business Contract Hire is for companies, sole traders and other organisations, with amounts shown + VAT. Both are available for cars and vans.
What Is an Initial Rental?
The initial rental is the first, upfront rental under the lease, often set as a multiple of the monthly rental. It forms part of the cost of the lease. It is not a deposit towards owning the vehicle.
Do I Own the Vehicle at the End?
No. Contract hire does not lead to ownership. You return the vehicle at the end of the agreement.
Can Maintenance Be Included?
Yes, you can ask for a maintenance package. What it covers depends on the package selected, and the details and exclusions are set out in your quotation. You remain responsible for arranging suitable insurance.
What Happens If I Exceed the Agreed Mileage?
An excess mileage charge applies for each mile over the agreed allowance, at the rate stated in your agreement. Choosing a realistic annual mileage at the start helps avoid this.
What Happens When the Agreement Ends?
The vehicle is collected and inspected against the return-condition standards set out in your agreement. Any applicable charges, such as for excess mileage or damage beyond fair wear and tear, are explained there. Our leasing team can talk you through your next vehicle.
Are All Your Vehicles Brand New?
Yes. This enquiry is for brand-new cars and vans. Our leasing team will confirm the specification and availability of any vehicle quoted.
